Terms and Conditions:
Terms and Conditions
1. Access and Keys
Keys must be tested and handed over before any walks begin, where access is required. Clients are responsible for ensuring that entry to the property is safe and reliable.
2. Payment Terms
All fees and payment methods must be agreed in advance.
Where an invoice is issued, it must be settled in full by bank transfer or cash within five working days. Late payments may result in services being paused.
3. Health, Vaccinations and Veterinary Care
Dogs must be registered with a vet and kept up to date with flea, worming and vaccination treatments.
Any medical issues, past or present, must be discussed before walks commence.
TJ’s Treks may refuse or cancel a walk if we believe a dog is unwell or showing signs of illness.
You must notify us immediately if your dog has experienced any signs of illness within 24 hours of a scheduled walk.
4. Identification and Walking Equipment
All dogs must be microchipped and wear identification.
A suitable collar or harness must be provided.
We do not walk dogs using e‑collars, prong collars, choke chains, or half‑chokes, or any equipment we consider unsafe or inappropriate.
If your dog requires a coat or additional warmth, you must supply it.
5. Behaviour, Safety and Handling
Unneutered males and bitches in season will not be walked off‑lead.
Dogs travel in secure crates in our vehicle. If your dog is not crate‑trained, you must provide an appropriate car harness.
Walks may be shortened or cancelled if weather conditions are extreme or unsafe. We do not walk dogs during thunderstorms.
6. Emergencies and Liability
An emergency contact should be provided where possible.
If your dog becomes injured, injures another dog, becomes unwell, or passes away while in our care, TJ’s Treks accepts no liability and will not cover any veterinary or related costs.
We will always act responsibly, but unforeseen incidents can occur.
7. Cleanliness and Post‑Walk Care
We aim to minimise how dirty dogs become during walks. Dogs will be wiped down and dried as much as reasonably possible before being returned home.
8. Cancellations and Schedule Changes
Cancellations are assessed individually and may incur charges.
Walks taking place on public holidays will be charged at a higher rate.
TJ’s Treks may cancel walks at short notice due to illness, vehicle issues or unexpected circumstances, but we will always try to give as much notice as possible.
9. Conduct and Communication
Any concerns about our service must be raised within 48 hours so we can address them promptly.
Rudeness or disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated. If this occurs, services may be terminated immediately.
A final invoice will be issued for any outstanding balance, which must be paid within five working days. If payment is not received within ten working days, legal action may be taken to recover the debt, including associated costs.
10. Agreements and Permissions
All required agreement forms must be completed and signed before walks begin.
We will always request your permission before posting photos of your dog, allowing off‑lead walking, or giving treats. You are welcome to decline
